FIRST RESPONDER’S CHOICE

by

As a First Responder, reliable portable power is essential. Running emergency gear like defibrillators, communications and ventilators requires ample pure-sinewave AC.

Unless one is running full charge/discharge cycles daily, the extra cost and weight of LiFePO4 isn’t justified.

After extensive testing of many units, I’m recommending the MPS-1200 (lithium-ion) as standard issue for our County’s Paramedic service. This unit is currently on “clearance price” in Canada, making it the best dollar value available, with over a kilowatt-hour reserve at only 24 pounds.

surprisingly powerful

by

I bought this unit 2 weeks ago (after watching way too many you-tube videos about these types of batteries) and have been playing around with it in anticipation of an upcoming car camping trip and for emergency purposes. While connected it has run all my 120V appliances that were "matched" to it's power output (I used a kill-a-watt tester to make sure the battery should be able to handle it!). The Massimo battery displays that it will run my medium size fridge (sorry no specs) for 10h, a heat gun (750W) for 1h, and most impressive I used it to power my electric corded (12A) B&D MM875-style mulching lawn mower for 30min (while mowing grass) with >80% battery power to spare afterwards - I know this is pushing its limits. The battery did not get hot but the little fan came on for a few minutes after my 30min mowing spree. I'll do that again but I am sure that it would struggle with a more powerful corded mower.
